Sony has just rolled out a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3, bringing us up to v2.42. Sony planned to release Life with PlayStation at the end of the month of July and I couldn't help but wonder if this update brought the said app. Although sadly it didn't bring Life with PlayStation. It looks like just another stability update for the PS3.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.42) is now available for download. This update improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.
